Practical tools for both yoga and clinical settings

The course is designed for yoga teachers, students, and those working in the human services field. It offers practical tools to support emotional wellbeing — whether you’re holding space on the mat, or in a clinical setting.

Five areas of focus

Trauma-informed yoga principles

Fostering trust, choice and a sense of agency — as a facilitator, and in your own practice.

Creating safe and supportive spaces

Building a setting where students feel physically, psychologically and emotionally supported.

Adapting language and facilitation style

Tailoring dialogue, language and sequencing to support the mental health of the people in front of you.

Responding to emotional distress

Recognising what’s happening for a student or client, and responding through yoga practices with steadiness.

Mindfulness and nervous system awareness

Understanding how the nervous system shapes emotional experience, and the role of mindfulness in supporting wellbeing.

Three kinds of practitioner

Yoga teachers

Wanting to hold space for students whose practice is shaped by anxiety, grief, burnout or trauma.

Yoga students

Curious about the relationship between yoga, the nervous system, and mental health — for their own practice.

Human services workers

Bringing yoga’s tools into clinical, community, or support settings where mental health is part of the work.

Easy-to-follow video lessons, downloadable resources, and an optional quiz for certification. No prior experience in mental health or trauma-informed yoga is required.

What participants have said

“This course helped me better understand trauma, strengthen my own ‘window of tolerance’, and experience the profound benefits of reconnecting mind and body. I came away feeling genuinely supported, more self-aware, and better equipped to navigate daily life with greater ease.”

Jacqui Yoga Student & Teacher

“I came into this course looking for some new techniques, cues, and things to consider as I go about my work. I loved learning about Polyvagal theory and how that correlates with yoga philosophy — and importantly how I can meaningfully apply that when I’m holding space for people moving forward.”

Gina Support Worker & Yoga Teacher

“Yoga has supported me through so many life challenges of my own. Through the teachings of this course it makes sense why.”
